Pre-Production Proofs – Pre-Production Proofs are the only way to ensure imprint accuracy. Target will not be held responsible for slight shifts in color without a pre-production proof. Target will run 3 proofs samples, one for your records, one for your client and one for Target to keep on file. Pre-Production Proofs will be billed within 30 days of printing regardless of order status.
Photo Proofs – Photo proofs are provided free of charge on orders over 1,000 pieces. Photo proofs are taken when an order is on press and ready to print. Proofs are emailed to our customer and the press can be held for one hour. If the customer responds with changes, depending on the change, the job may be taken down and rescheduled and billed as a Pre-Production Proof. If no response is received within one hour the job will be taken down and rescheduled and the photo proof is billed as a Pre-Production Proof.
Virtual Proofs/Sewouts – Target sends proofs to ensure accuracy of art as supplied by the customer. It is up to the customer to review these proofs with great attention to detail to guarantee they are correct before approving. Target is not responsible for errors in approved designs.
Customer Separations – Process separations supplied by the customer will not be accepted. Our separations are created specifically for our factory. Spot color halftones will also be created by Target to account for dot gain.
Art Revision Fees – Each order includes 15 minutes of art time to prep the file for printing at no charge. The first revision is free in the event the customer makes a change. Any revision requests after the first free revision may incur a $25 fee per proof.
Printing on Youth and Adult Garments – If different size screens are needed for printing the same design on youth and adult garments then print charges will be based on separate runs. However, an imprint size can sometimes be determined to accommodate all sizes, please call for advice.
Signed Order Approvals – Order approvals are created and emailed to the customer at the order entry stage of the process. Target must receive a signed order approval before the order can proceed to production.
Cancellations – Order cancellations must be confirmed in writing. Cancellations will not be accepted for orders that have already been produced. For non-produced cancellations, any associated costs leading up to the production of your order will be invoiced accordingly.
Unique Locations – Printing over seams, zippers, collars or other unique locations will lead to ink build ups, mis-registration, coverage and consistency issues. Unique Locations are subject to garment style & sizes for each individual order. We may be restricted in some cases, and art will have to be sized based on the smallest garment or a certain style if you are using more than one style in your order.
Printing Tolerance – Target has a 1/2 inch movement tolerance in any direction per imprint.
Simulated All Over Printing — Simulated All Over Printing designs must be re sized for each garment size printed. This allows the design to be scaled properly with each shirt size.
Neck Tag Printing — Neck Tag Printing on the inside of the shirt will typically show through to the other side. This is especially noticeable when there is high contrast between shirt color and ink color (i.e. Black Ink on a White Shirt). To minimize this issue please request a neck tag print color that has enough contrast to the garment but isn’t so dark/light that it might easily show through the garment.
Production Time – Production time begins once a complete Purchase Order, acceptable art file and garments are received.
Garment Reaction to Heat – Garments may shrink slightly when exposed to heat during the ink curing process. In addition, some brands of garments tags will curl and shrink when exposed to heat. This is a risk inherent in the nature of the materials when exposed to heat that Target cannot take responsibility for or control.
4 Color Process Printing – This process uses CMYK printing. By using detailed halftones and laying them over each other, we are able to print a full gamut of colors. Although very precise, often times exact Pantone® matches are not possible. If there is a need for an exact color match, a spot color will need to be added into the pricing and production run. There is a max of two additional spot colors that can be added per each process print.
Discharge Limitations – Discharge inks will only work on 100% cotton material. An exact PMS match is not possible and the imprint color will vary based on the color shirt and dye lot.
Dye Migration Warning – Polyester and Nylon Dye Migration happens when the dye in the fabric of the garment sublimated and turns into a colored gas. It will then try to escape the garment and can get stuck in the ink that is applied on the garment. It will slowly permeate through and can discolor the ink slightly or completely depending on the garment itself as well as the print process. Darker colored garments are more likely to migrate (red, blue, black, etc.) Dye migration may appear hours or weeks after the ink is cured. Target uses polyester inks and nylon additives to attempt to lower the chance of dye migration. However, Target cannot control dye migration and the customer must accept the risk of dye migration when printing polyester, polyester blends and nylon goods.
Foil Longevity – Foil is a topical heat pressed effect that is adhered after the garment has been decorated with either standard plastisol inks or special foil adhesives. Foil is not a permanent decoration, rough abrasion or harsh washing will cause foil to flake and come off of garments. For best results, wash garment inside out, on a delicate cycle in cold water only. Foil can last 1 to 5 washes depending on care of garment. Foil is offered in standard colors: red, gold and silver. Specialty colors can be ordered.
Unclaimed Garments – Garments that are in Target’s possession for more than 90 days become the property of Target Decorated Apparel. It is the customer’s responsibility to claim any garments before this deadline. Misprinted and damaged garments become Target’s property after 30 days.
Dispute of Quality – Claims must be made within 30 days of receipt of merchandise.
Spoilage Rate of Screen Printing – Target is not responsible for spoilage up to 1% of orders over 1,000 prints, 2% for orders over 144 prints or 5% for orders less than 144 prints (Minimum 1 piece). Blanks must be provided to cover the spoilage rate of the TOTAL order for EACH size, style and color. Please call with questions.
Spoilage Rate of Embroidery/Applique/Laser Etching – Spoilage allowance is 2% on all quantities per location.
Shipping Charges – Shipping charges are calculated based on the actual weight, distance traveled, declared value and type of shipping service you specify (ground, next day, second day, etc). Target cannot be held to the shipping charges estimated. Estimates are given per day based on fuel costs. Complete packing and shipping instructions must be finalized 48 hours in advance of your ship date to ensure prompt delivery of your order.
Handling Fees – Each order will incur a $6 handling fee for the first package and $3 fee for each for subsequent package shipped.
Shipping Insurance – All orders will be insured at a declared value of $8 per piece unless otherwise instructed.
Drop Shipping – A $5 fee per location for standard pick and pack, $8 fee per location for custom pick and pack.
